@FloridaCombat recap!
madcreativity:

Tampa, FL- Florida Combat Network held it’s inaugural Amateur Mixed Martial Arts show in Tampa this weekend on May 12th and it did not disappoint! Held in front of a packed house at Tilted Kilt on North Dale Mabry the event was sanctioned by MMA Solutions and was stacked with great matchups and lots of local support from Anytime Fitness, Sports Center Family Fitness, La Golla Lounge, Suncoast Chiropractic Wellness Centers, Penthouse Club and lots of other local sponsors.
Florida Combat Network CEO Deon Delauder and matchmaker Ralph Garcia used their their years of experience in the Florida MMA scene to get put together one of the best local shows around. A wide range of local MMA schools were represented and delivered  some action packed matchups.
Notable standouts were Eddie Santana from Omega MMA as he successfully made his debut in a whirlwind fight that saw him lock in the triangle choke quickly in the first round after surviving a dangerous slam from his opponent.
Martin Vergara from World Class Martial Arts easily handled his more experienced 9-2 opponent Brad Taylor.
Tony Murphy from St Pete MMA Fight Club got on the win column as he snapped Clearwater MMA’s David Mundell’s 3-0 win streak in the co-main event.
And the main event was a back and forth battle between Matt Linder from Evolution MMA and Gracie Tampa South’s Billy Quarantillo which saw the Gracie standout come out on top after in a match that tested both men’s determination. In the end it was Quarantillo’s well rounded ground and striking game that gave him the decision.
A great show overall which represented the burgeoning amateur talent that is coming out of Florida and one we look forward to covering again in the future.
